I thought that I already sumbitted a comment on my expereince with this item. I received it in poor condition. The base was not connected to one of the main pieced of the humidifier, nor would it properly fasten. I sent it back & Amazon refunded my money in a timely manner.
Description of Holmes HM1230 Cool Mist Humidifier for 600 Square Foot Room
Designed for small to medium rooms, the Holmes Cool Mist humidifier offers light humidifying to improve the quality and comfort of air in your home. With a maximum daily output of 2-1/2 gallons, the unit features two power settings and a transparent 1-gallon tank with a built-in carrying handle. Mist fans out from the top grille after the water has traveled through a circular wick filter that traps minerals and deposits. A simple dial gauge on top of the unit indicates when the filter is in good shape or ready for changing. Both the humidifier and the filter come with Microban protection, ensuring that bacteria, mold, and mildew are inhibited from growing. Holmes recommends daily rinsing with this model, and weekly scale removal during regular use. Though not industrial-strength, the humidifier is easy to use and straightforward in design.
